Many people who have bought property in Costa del Sol are now considering long-term rentals. Doing this type of rental can offer you, as the landlord, the peace of mind knowing that fewer people are going in and out of your apartment, and you are also guaranteed a rental income for a longer period of time. The Costa del Sol stretches along 150 kilometers of the Malaga province and has become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain. Tourists mean the need for rentals, and some find it a great place to rent and live in for longer periods of time. That's when long-term rentals for Costa del Sol come into play.

Finding a long-term rental can be a bit challenging in Costa del Sol, but with the proper research, you can find the best place for your needs, or list your own property for rent. If you are planning to rent for a long-term stay, then you need to look at all the different factors that go into long-term rentals. For instance, look at the location of the property. Are you comfortable in an area that may be predominantly Spanish? Or, would you rather the place you live in have more English people? Maybe your neighbors are only tenants themselves. Would this be OK? Would you rather have tenants that actually live there permanently? Ask yourself what kind of view you want - do you want an ocean view or does it not matter?

Noise levels are important factors when looking for long-term rentals. Check first to see if there are any construction areas nearby that may make for some unpleasant mornings. Location to local amenities is also a very important factor in choosing a rental. Will you be near shops and stores? Can you get to a doctor, dentist, health care facility, and hospital quickly? Can you walk to any places, or do you have to drive? If you do not drive, is there public transportation to the places and facilities you will need to frequent? You may want to check what kind of facilities they have for children if you have kids, what the school is like, and if there are any leisure activities offered nearby.

The type of rental property you will be living in needs to be examined closely, as well. You need to figure out what type you are looking for, a house, villa, apartment, or townhouse. Find out how many bedrooms it has, if there are enough outdoor areas and storage space. For those with pets, it is important to know whether or not you can keep them, and how many. One big problem on Costa del Sol is the absence of phone lines form residential areas, so you will want to make sure whether or not you will have one. If not, check to see if there is available public communication close by.

Renting long-term rentals can be a daunting task, but once you get through all the questions, you will be able to find a great place to stay in while you live in Costa del Sol.
